Lockdown As An Asmathic Citizen in Malaysia.

Night Lovelies.

When it comes to coronavirus outbreak, everyone is aware of their health, especially for those who are in unsafe conditions. I am one of these people who have asthma, rely on steroid preventer and Ventolin every day. Lockdown has taken a toll out of my health. Since I'm living in a small house, my house has a lack of air movement inside it.

Malaysia started its partial lockdown on 18th March 2020 until 14th April 2020. However, the period of lockdown depends on how much the numbers of infected people slow down after 14th April. As an asthmatic patient, I know how well this situation could affect my health. Last year in 2019, I got pneumonia, and I'm on the verge of death. I started to take my steroid during that time. Fortunately, I recover from this sickness after one month of suffering.

So at the end of 2019, I heard the coronavirus started its outbreak. It causes pneumonia, and when I listened to this news, I know exactly what the experience was. The case of infected people in Malaysia started to increase in early March 2020. Our government employed partial lockdown, and it is an excellent movement to contain this pandemic.

However, last two weeks, I started to have a sore throat, mild fever and a little bit of cough. I have shortness of breath due to asthma and took the preventer daily. I'm not particularly sure whether I got this virus or not since my condition was not that serious; thus, I decided to self-isolate myself during this period.  After two weeks of mild symptoms' suffering, I gain my full recovery from it. I'm quite sure that many asthmatic people might wonder what could they do during this pandemic to avoid catching it or maybe treat it.

During the last two weeks, I have several habits that I did to treat the symptoms. I'm not particularly sure whether these routines are valid or not, but I am going to share them here anyway.

Vitamin C + Zinc Effervescent Tablets

I took 1 tablet per day. Dissolve it in water.

1 Lemon + Ginger Infused in Hot Water, Added Pure Honey Afterwards

I drank 3 to 4 glass of this drink. Boil hot water with one lemon and a little bit of ginger for one hour (small fire on the stove). After one hour, I take out the water in a cup and put some pure honey afterwards. A warm drink is actually good for an asthmatic person.

Steroid Preventor Every Day

Take your steroid 2 pumps in the morning and before you sleep. If you got an asthma attack in between your steroid, take your Ventolin inhaler.

Sleep Regularly

If you feel sluggish or tired, take a nap during the day and sleep at least 8 hours per day.

Drink a Lot of Water

Make you sure drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration.

If You Feel Slightly Better, Exercise.

During the symptoms, I did some exercise. Don't force yourself, stop when you are out of breath.

Avoid Coldness.

No ice cream, cold drinks, and air conditioner.
